About Me

Who Am I?

Hi I'm Guzmán Llambías and I'm a PhD student and Lecturer at Universidad de la República in Uruguay. At this institution I've been teaching several ungraduate and postgraduate courses since 2010. I work at the LINS group that is focused on middleware technologies, software architecture and technologies for the development of information systems. In 2021 I decided to start a PhD on blockchain interoperability, a topic I'm enthusiastic. Previously, I did my master thesis on Integration Platforms for Bioinformatic Services.

Academic interest

In recent years, my work has focused on activities related with my PhD studies, which is focused on the design and development of a blockchain interoperability framework. Prior to this, my work was focused on the study, analysis and exploration of the integration of information systems using Integration Platforms based on Enterprise Service Bus type middleware or lightweight integration mechanisms (e.g. queues, web services). The former are applicable in medium to large business contexts, following the SOA architecture style, while the latter, in hyper-scalability contexts for cloud applications, following an architecture style based on microservices. In 2013 I finished my master's degree whose main contribution was the specification, design and experimentation of an Integration Platform for bioinformatics experiments. On the other hand, in the context of my professional activity, I work as a software architect at Pyxis, carrying out team management tasks, technical leader and definition of architectures in medium and large-sized systems.
