Héctor Cancela - Personal Home Page (here in Spanish)

Héctor Cancela is Full Professor at the Operations Research Department,  Computer Science Institute, of the Engineering School, University of the Republic of Uruguay.

His research interests include simulation and combinatorial optimization techniques applied to communication network and transportation network evaluation and design.

He is also interested in Information Society activities and in the engineering degree accreditation program of the MERCOSUR.

Latest News:

• June 2010 the CLAIO, the Latin American Operations Research Conference, took place at Buenos Aires, jointly with the ALIO/INFORMS meeting. The event was very successful, drawing about 1000 attendees. More information on the congress can be found at  this homepage .
• May 2010 the journal ENLACES, by the Fundación Julio Ricaldoni,  published an article about the decision support system we developed for the Sistema Nacional de Áreas Protegidas, at the Ministry for Environment.  It also published material about the Center for Software Testing initiative we are participating in.
