Title: High Resolution Protein Structure Determination Using Cryo Electron
Microscopy

Abstract: Recent advances in single particle cryo-electron microscopy
(cryo-EM) have enabled the determination of protein structure at
unprecedentedly high resolutions, in many cases rivaling those produced by
X-ray crystallography. Improvements in electron detector technology as well
as advances in image processing have contributed significantly to this
achievement. I will present an overview of recent developments in the
cryo-EM field and outline some of the challenges still remaining in how
best to extract structural information from time-resolved, extremely low
SNR images of radiation sensitive biological material.
