"Señal de Ajuste" - technology augmented dance performance.

"Señal de ajuste" was presented in November 2014 in Ingeniería de Muestra event. This event is yearly organised by the Faculty of Engineering of Montevideo, and our piece was the final show that closed the event. This piece was developed in collaboration with the dancers and choreographers: Analía Fontán, Ximena Castillo and Jessica Lateulade. The video documentation of the piece can be found on Vimeo.

Thematic statement

This piece addressed issues of the dance, interaction and mass media. It reflected on our place in the spectrum of signals to which we are exposed. It tried to analyse the contemporary bodily expression and its possibilities of creation and interaction with motion capture systems. It explored the approximation process of adjusting the body and the device in the new, ex- tended through technology environment. It aimed to show that the mediated reality only starts when both: interaction and mediation between both parts appear. It worked with the three axes: visual, sonic and kinesthetic.
