The project is aimed to design and develop a new interaction schema for the One Laptop per Child's laptop (named XO), replacing the tradicional input devices (mouse, trackpad, keyboard), with the purpose of improving the laptop's accessiblity.

The target users are children with cerebral palsy, attending the public school Dr. Ricardo Caritat for children with physical impairments.

Participant observation and structured interviews with the school's children and key staff (director, teachers, and physiotherapists) were conducted to gain insights on the particular conditions associated with cerebral palsy, the users' capabilities, the school's environment, the children's needs, and the school's needs.

During the daily school activities, a team of three members took written notes independently, which were afterwards synchronized in the lab. We received informed consent of the parents to carry out the research.

The design process helped us gaining a nuanced understanding of the user's potentials and limitations, find insights about the way they interact with the XOs, and conceptualize the interaction schema.
